letzten samstag trafen wir (oona, olga, florian, anna, yara und ich) uns um den rosenthaler platz zu zeichnen (da ja rosentage waren).

grosse ferien

die kinder haben grosse ferien. am abend des letzten schultages feierten wir dieses ereignis mit einem besuch im olympiabad.

auf dem heimweg hielten wir am steubenplatz zu einem dem anlass angemessenem abendessen.

the kids long vacation starts today. to celebrate this, we went to olympiabad in the evening, after last day in school.

on the way home we stopped for an (according to kids opinion) appropriate meal for this occasion.

berlin pavillion

der berlin pavillion am hansaviertel wurde 1957 als eingangs und infopavillion der interbau errichtet. nun enthält er einen burgerking.

als ich nach berlin kam war er austellungsraum der preussischen porzellan manufaktur. mir ist lieber, er enthält whopper. so kann ich ihn als anonymer fastfoodkunde betreten, eine (zugegeben fragwürdige) mahlzeit einnehmen und gucken und zeichnen.


the berlin pavillion in hansaviertel at tiergarten was buildt 1957 as entrance and infocenter of the interbau. now it contains a burgerking.

at first view this does not suite in sophisticated architecture like this. befor, when i came to berlin, it was exhibit place of royal porcellan manufacture. i very much prefer it containing whoppers, now i can walk in as an anonymous fastfood-consumer, have my (ok, dodgy) meal and view and sketch.

die meisten besucher sind stammgäste, wie der taz-verkäufer, der jeden späten abend ein pausenbier trinkt.

most visitors are regulars, like this newspaper vendor, that has a beer break every late evening.
